HP Mini 210 follows up the mini-computers ( netbooks ), which HP has launched its mini-series. The screen is 10.1 inches and has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It should be possible to play movies in HD quality on the screen, and with an external Blu-ray player (sold separately) you can also play Blu-ray movies. HDMI port for connection to flat-screen TV is sadly lacking.

The processor is an Intel Celeron at 1.6 GHz and the internal memory of 1 GB expandable to 2 GB. The hard disk is in either 160 GB that spin at 5400 RPM or 250 GB at 7200 RPM. The graphics card is from Intel.

Among the ports are three USB2, VGA, Ethernet and combined mic or headphones.Wireless networks are so clearly inbyggdt, although the specifications do not describe the standard to which this is – probably 802.11b / g; Other internal features include memory card reader and webcam.

The cheapest model in the Mini 210 series features a 3-cell battery, and they have more expensive 6-cell batteries. Are you working with the computer on battery power, recommended six-cells. The price starts at 3290 kronor .

Microsoft launched just over a month since its free anti-virus Security Essentials, and since then I drove it to one of my computers. Microsoft has been relatively quiet on the Security Essentials, but it is evident that antivirus companies are afraid.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a free antivirus and antispyware programs that are based on technology from other security software that Microsoft has accumulated over the years. They have regularly launched a bit like this software, without reaching any great success.Security Essentials seems to be able to achieve great success.

The major antivirus companies were a little scornful when Microsoft launched the Security Essentials. They liked the course is not that Microsoft released a free competitor to their payment programs, and therefore was the right speed to the media and talk about the previous failed efforts, and Microsoft said that users do not trust Microsoft as security.

Now after a month can be seen that this was not the case. I can admit that I thought that most computer magazines would cut Security Essentials much because it was Microsoft, but also because I was not sure if Microsoft had actually managed to do a good antivirus. After testing it myself, and read many other tests, I can say that I was wrong.

Good critique of the Security Essentials

Security Essentials has been consistently right good reviews. It is an easy and good security program, and it gives a clear pass protection against attacks. Compared with complete security package from as McAfee, Symantec or Kaspersky lacks many features, but it has never officially been the aim to make a complete security package.

The reason why Microsoft has released Security Essentials is that many computer users are running without antivirus. It’s absolutely crazy if you currently have a Windows computer and an Internet connection. To be affected by the virus goes in an instant if you do not have good protection. Security Essentials is built for all those who do not want to pay for a security package and does not care. Do these users the ability to install an easy-care and free anti-virus maybe you can get rid of some of the unsecured computers.

Everyone is nervous …

Today, security companies that develop commercial antivirus clearly nervous .Microsoft Security Essentials has received good reviews and for many users, it is a completely accepted alternative to buying a security suite. Why, is the thinking, should I pay 800 bucks for a security package when Microsoft offers an antivirus system that obviously works?

But it is not only security companies that are nervous. Even Microsoft itself is clearly nervous over its own launch. When Microsoft launches a program that competes against third-party developers, there is always the risk that they will be prosecuted.Remember what happened with Internet Explorer and in the included browser in Windows, beating out any competing browser, and was convicted for huge sums.

With the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft wants to make a safer system. To do so requires that users install anti-virus. Security Essentials is again a good free alternative for those who do not intend to buy any security package. But the problem is that Microsoft can not include this in Windows 7, because of the laws.

Catch-22 situation

There is one part good, because Microsoft will not use their position, but on the other hand, affects the security of the Internet enormously.

Nor dare to tell if Microsoft Security Essentials – at least not very loudly. If you do not have any antivirus installed in Windows 7 brings up a warning and a tip on where to find antivirus software. Clicking this link will send you to a website that offers tips on several different antivirus. There are currently no Security Essentials represented, only links to other companies.

In order to make the Internet safer requires that all Windows users run antivirus.Microsoft now has a good free solution for this, but if too many get out there and get the program, Microsoft will surely be sued and convicted of several billion.

Kingston continues to launch USB sticks with a focus on high security. Their Kingston DataTaveler Locker + comes with hardware encryption and a technology that will do it easily and automatically protecting data for both individuals and business users.

A USB flash drive is an excellent tool to have, now that we often need to move data between computers and other storage devices. But most are not very secure, something that goes hand in hand with the fact that it is all too easy to fritter away a small USB stick. Do you have any private files on your memory, you should definitely look over security.

Kingston DataTaveler Locker + is a USB memory stick that comes in sizes 4-32 GB. All content stored on the memory is protected with hardware-based and 256-bit AES encryption. It requires no installation software, but all software is run from memory.

You protect your stick using a password of at least ten characters. Would anyone find the memory and try to get into it, you only get ten attempts before a security software locks the memory and format your saying.

The price for the Kingston DataTaveler Locker + located at 200 crowns (4 GB) up to 1435 SEK (32 GB).

There are very few laptops that have built-in speakers worth mentioning. Most are gruesomely bad, so would you listen to music, you should get a couple of external. Philips Multimedia Speakers 2.0 is small and can manage the power from USB.

Philips small speakers in white, black and yellow. They are pretty to look when placed together with the computer, at least if you have a computer that is white.Together with my metallic colored laptop cut it, however, entitled significantly in design, and the speakers suddenly looked very plastic.

The purpose of the speakers is primarily to the use of laptop computers. I certainly think they are just a bit to clumsy to be dismantled in a computer bag. Do you have an ordinary flat panel computer bag will you get knöka properly to get them down.

From the right speaker is three wires , one to the left speaker, one who you connect to your computer’s audio output and one that connects to an available USB port on your computer. The latter is used for the speakers to get power. There is therefore no external power supply, but it is enough USB port. It is smooth.

On the underside of the speakers is a deepening and a small device to spin up the wiring to. It’s good, because otherwise it becomes a small white viper’s nest of wires.

Sound quality is absolutely acceptable

In the case of such small speakers to get forward its own demands on a different level than when testing ordinary speakers. First, the speakers so small, but most of all, you can not squeeze out what seems like forever when you’re limited in power from the USB port.

Philips Multimedia Speakers 2.0 can do really well. You will not be able to use them for the dance floor down in the rec room, but to listen to music while sitting at your computer running absolutely fine. The sound is relatively good quality and is actually pulling up the volume quite well.

The price of Philips speakers is around 300 SEK, depending on where you shop somewhere. There is an agreed price.

Fujitsu launches two laptops – Lifebook T4410 and T4310 – Whose screens can be rotated according to the tablet model and which also can handle multi-touch in Windows 7.

It will sometimes laptops that can be turned into so-called Tablet PC (a good Swedish term seems to be). A tablet PC is a computer where you do not have a keyboard with no writing on the screen.

With Fujitsu Lifebook T4410 and T4310 you can tilt the screen so that you can either use the laptop as usual with a keyboard, or tablet PC.

We will surely see even more tablet PCs in the future, especially with the launch of Windows 7. Microsoft’s new operating system, namely, support for multitouch, which makes the management of a touch screen much easier … You can either operate a computer with pen or finger.

Both the T4410 and T4310 have a widescreen display with LED-type of 12.1 inches. The computers weigh about 2.1 kg, Depending on optional equipment. They come with internal 3G modem so you can easily connect to the internet wherever you are.

Otherwise, you can configure the computers a little as you want with a processor, memory, hard drive or SSD, and it is also possible to get DVD burners.

The difference between the T4310 and T4410 is a bit unclear. T4410 can be via the optional fitted with safety feature TPM, Which protects data on your hard drive if your computer is stolen.

Fujitsu Lifebook T4310 and T4410 will be available in Sweden from the fourth quarter, and price tags starting at about 13 000 SEK.

The shelves of electronics stores, there are now long lines of digital photo frames .They have been thoroughly popular, despite their price tags. This article explains what it is!

A digital photo frame can be easily explained seen as an ordinary picture frame in which the photograph is replaced with an LCD screen to display digital photos . This means that you do not need the same old photograph in context all the time, but you can set it to switch all the time. The aim is really that it’s cool . And that’s it.

The first digital photo frames were a scrubby LCD screen and a small internal memory that is filled with a few digital photos by connecting the photo frame to a computer.Nowadays, current photo frames, as a rule both plenty of internal memory , but also built-in memory card reader and USB port . It allows you to take the memory card from your digital camera and plug directly into the frame to show photos.

Photos by e-mail

Furthermore, there are photo frames that can receive images in other ways. Bluetoothis an example, that Philips SPH8008 offers, where you can send over images wirelessly from your mobile phone. Connect your phone via Bluetooth and transferring pictures to the photo frame, as soon as they pop up on screen.

There are also photo frames that can connect to your network at home – both wireless and via Ethernet cable. Here there are interesting possibilities. Some photo frames can download images from Internet .

I’ve read about digital photo frames that can check an email address for digital photos, which means that anyone who has the address can post pictures to your photo frame. This can be rikigt cool if you have friends or relatives who are out on the trip. Every day we put up new photos from the African savannahs to your photo frame in the living room! The manufacturer eStarling have digital photo frames with your own email addresses , and they are now in Sweden.

Slideshow and editing

The software of digital photo frames have become increasingly sophisticated. Most are handled through an interface on the display itself, which is controlled by buttons located on the frame. Some photo frames have features to make basic image editing. This can be useful if you want to transfer photos directly from digital camera or camera phone. Maybe you want to crop and fix red-eye?

As a rule, you show so clearly not a static image, but instead runs a slideshow of all or a group of images on memory. These slideshows can be done in different ways depending on the digital picture frame you purchase. There are transitions to choose from, which makes viewing more enjoyable. Some frames also capable of playingbackground music , and there is sometimes support for playing videos .

Still high price

What speaks against to buy a digital photo frame today is that the price tag often is quite high. The above mentioned Philips SPH8008 costs in 2595 dollars. It is the juiciest team, even if the price is justified by the technology of the digital photo frame can hold. But given that the field is limited – it is as I say mostly a fun thing – it feels like a lot of money for the average home user to post.

But if you really Vil have a digital photo frame, there is therefore plenty to choose from.Take a look at example MediaMarkt or electric giant to find a plethora of options. There is also plenty to find on the web. Digital Photo Frames need not be in black and white plastic, for I have seen several models that have real wooden frames and another great design.

If you have purchased a digital photo frame that you are happy with, please feel free toleave a comment below to tell other readers of this blog.

Windows 7 , Microsoft is forthcoming operating system, and by all accounts, it appears that they have learned after the flop with Vista. Research indicates that the new Windows version will be really good.

I have read a lot about the new Microsoft OS, and written about it in my blog where I have a whole section for Windows 7 .Ever since the first news came, I have become more and more interested, because it seems that Microsoft has made a lot right.

Microsoft has listened

One of the major reasons why Windows 7 is much better equipped to succeed thanWindows Vista had, is that Microsoft has once again listened more to their users.Early on they launched a beta version which anyone could download and try, and then came the so-called Windows 7 RC- Release Candidate – which also can be downloaded for testing. RC version is up to the June 2010 and is almost a finished version of Windows 7.

Both the beta and RC version has been really good critique of our testers. Windows 7 is perceived as a clear improvement over its predecessor, Vista. Many users have chosen to stay in XP instead of upgrading to Vista, which has meant that Vista never really had an impact. It is not surprising given that the operating system is not particularly good, although on many points, not as bad as some claim.

Windows 7, however, seems to be a good sequel to both Vista and XP . If you are running XP today and have ignored Vista because of the criticism, you will certainly be happy with Windows 7. It can scarcely be to hold on to XP. Microsoft will certainly continue to release security updates for XP for a while, largely due to the fact that most mini-computers ( netbooks ) are running on XP.

To keep its operating system and all software updated to the latest versions are more important than ever. The largest and most dangerous viruses that spread, they are exploiting security holes in the system and programs.

By using open security holes can malware execute itself, which means that the virus can activate itself, but that you have done something.

As an example, the virus Conficker , using a security hole that was found in Windows in October 2008. Microsoft was right to speed up with an update ( MS08-067 ) to fill the hole, but since so many users do not bother to update so the virus spread like wildfire over the coming months. In March, the media was full of articles about Conficker.

Among the most important programs to keep updated are the tools you use on the Internet. The browser, for example, and the additions are to the browser. Apple QuickTime , many people use to watch movies on the web. According to a safety report from Kasersky , published in March, was by far the largest QuickTime security culprit. Over 80 percent of vulnerabilities found in software among users in 2008, had to do with QuickTime.

To upgrade to more secure software

Many programs have built-in functions to update themselves. It is quite common that they install a small background program that is and check for updates of the Internet. Do you have a hardware firewall may be a problem, if the tools do not have Internet access.

I myself am not so fond of these tools, because every little helps get the right amount of internal and performance. When the Windows system tray is full of unnecessary icons anywhere you want to get rid of them.

If you start a program and it pops up a box on the new version, so it is good to accept it and download the upgrade. But to manually check all installed applications for new versions is a very big project. Then it’s good that there are solutions that do it for you.

Update Notifier is a free program that scans your computer for installed software, compare version numbers against a database and then tell you which ones are utgågna. In most cases, you can click through to the manufacturer’s website to download the new version.

When you install the Update Notifier will ask you if you want to run when Windows starts. It is a good idea, because the program then will continually check for new versions of your programs. Pops something up, you get a message and you can update right away. Because viruses and other attacks spread very quickly today, it is important to be quick with the updates.

An alternative to the Update Notifier is Secunia PSI , which is more focused on finding outdated software with security holes. PSI has the advantage that also talk about why you should download an update, by displaying a graphic bar on how serious safety your current version has. When I test drove Secunia PSI found a number of programs with security holes that opened up for the intrusion. By clicking on the icon in the Solution load the home of the last update, or sent to a Web page from which you can download the file.

Remove the safety program

As a final piece of advice for keeping your PC fresh and blocked by security holes, I suggest that you go through your installed applications and remove those you do not use. This not only frees up space on your hard drive, but you make your computer more secure. Since you do not use the programs you will probably not update them, and then it is unnecessary for them to remain just in case you find security holes in them.

To uninstall the software, I recommend Revo Uninstaller in Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs. You pick Revo Uninstaller free and it helps you to uninstall programs much more efficiently. The tool cleans namely also removed any remaining registry keys and temporary files. When you uninstall a program, choose Moderate or Advanced mode for best results.

Upgrading Windows properly

1. Auto-update

Make sure to activate the automatic update of Windows, so you will not have to manually check for updates. You do this via the Security Center in Control Panel.

2. Windows Update

If you have not updated Windows in a long time, you can go towindowsupdate.microsoft.com and download everything from here.

3. Drivers

Windows Update can also give suggestions for new drivers, you should download the hardware you have installed. This is recommended.
